Funeral services for John Finnell Dilworth, 80, of Longview will be held at 4 pm Saturday, September 17, 2005 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Reverend Tom Roberson officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park?s Field of Honor. Mr. Dilworth honorably and faithfully served his country during World War II with the United States NAVY. For his dedication and service, Mr. Dilworth will receive full military honors at the graveside.
Mr. Dilworth was born on June 25, 1925 in Minter to Kirby and Carrie Dilworth. He was a truck driver for over 31 years. He was a Teamster Business Agent for over 10 years, was a member and past president East Texas Vintage Auto Club, president of the Longview Lions Club, and a 32nd degree mason. He was also a member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church where he served as deacon.
A loving father and grandfather, Mr. Dilworth was preceded in death by his parents; and dear wife Arline, who passed away in April of 2001. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Janeen Smith of Longview, Lynne and Joe Ogletree of Hemphill, Holly and Philip Barron of Doyline, LA.; grandchildren, Sandra and Al Langley of Memphis, TN., Jason and Maria Smith of Stockholm, Sweden, Chris Montelbano of Bentonville, AR., Chelsea Barron of Doyline, LA. her fiancé, Kelcey Kleinman of Homer, LA.; 3 great-grandchildren, Olivia and Oscar Smith of Stockholm, Sweden, and Yvonne ?Evie? Langley of Memphis, TN.; 3 step grandchildren, Michael Ogletree of Rogers, AR., Kim Lamitina of DeRidder, LA., and Chris Ogletree of Joaquin; as well as 2 step great-grandchildren, Josh and Corey Ogletree of Joaquin.
