John Cove's Obituary
John “Grampy” Damien Cove, was born November 18, 1943 in Worcester, Massachusetts to John Charles and Yvonne Fitzback Cove.
John was preceded in death by his parents. His first loving wife Carole Ann Cove and his second loving wife Charlene Bernadette Cove. One four legged fur baby named Sadie.
John is survived by two brothers Michael Cove and Karen, James Cove and Lisa. One sister Denise Desautels. Four adoring children Kenneth John Cove, Pamela Jeanne Rawson and Kenny, Dianna Cove, and Mimi Lee Ayres and Thomas. A multitude of beloved grandchildren and spouses, Melissa Strauchman and Chris, Elizabeth Schrag and Brendon, Cody Cove. Sarah Gwaltney and Charley, Christopher Rawson and Jalen, Caroline Scroggins and Callen, Rebekah Ayres, Nathaniel Ayres. The sweetest great-grandchildren Bradley Strauchman, Jayden Cove, Matthew Strauchman. Mackenzie Schrag, Kellen Schrag, Kennedy Schrag and baby Stetson Schrag. Kenny Wayne Gwaltney, Weston Gwaltney, Shelby Gwaltney, Naomi Rawson. Baby Caleb Scroggins.
John dedicated 35+ years to the Labor Relations of General Motors and 40+ years as a preacher of the Gospel. He pastored in BMA and Southern Baptist churches. John’s hobbies included playing the violin, studying his Bible every day, passionately sharing the Gospel, singing, leading music and crocheting beautiful afghans. At John’s passing he was an active member of Camille Acres Missionary Baptist Church.
Memorial donations may be sent to the Camille Acres Building Fund which Grampy lived for. Grampy is already missed greatly by every soul he touched. The family of John “Grampy” Cove extends heartfelt gratitude.
Funeral services for John will be held at Camille Acres Missionary Baptist Church Wednesday, January 14 at 3pm. A visitation will be held the night before between 6 and 8pm at Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
