John Harland Clark's Obituary
A memorial service for John H. Clark will be held at Rader Funeral Home on May 12, 2023. Visiting time with family and friends will be at 1:00 PM, and the memorial service will be at 2:00 PM.
John H. Clark, 73, of Longview, Texas went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ peacefully on April 26, 2023. He was born in Portland, Oregon and raised on Douglas Island, Alaska and Southern California. He served in the United States Army in Vietnam as a Medic and Volunteer Door Gunner. John was to exit the Army in Texas where it was his destiny to marry his bride of 46 years, Cheryl “Sherry” Ann Loper, in Longview, Texas. They began to raise their three children on the West Coast. In 1984, they returned to Longview, Texas where John continued his career as a Registered Nurse.
John was interested in outdoor adventures and traveling. In his later years, John began an amazing journey of learning how to love like Jesus, live like Jesus, and serve like Jesus alongside his spiritual brothers and sisters at Mobberly Baptist Church in Longview, Texas.
John was preceded in death by his parents Harland L. & Jaqueline M. Clark and by his brother William Clark.
John is survived by his wife Sherry; his daughter Robin Clayborn – with husband Scot and their son, Zack of Prosper, Texas; his son Nathan – with wife Dr. Hillary Huber and their daughter Lilith of San Antonio, Texas; and his son Aaron – with wife Ana and their children Silas and Téa of Cluj-Napoca, Romania; his brothers James (Longview, Texas), Gary (Colorado Springs, Colorado), and David (Eugene, Oregon).
