John C. Owens' Obituary
Funeral services for John C. Owens, 65, of Karnack, will be held at 10 AM Monday, August 1, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home, Longview, with Reverend Mike Lindstrom officiating. Interment will be in Memory Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends 4 to 6 PM Sunday at the funeral home.Mr. Owens passed away Thursday evening in a local hospital.A native of Good Springs, Texas, he was born August 6, 1939 to Gipson and Vera Owens, who preceded him in death. Mr. Owens graduated from Carlisle High School and had worked for Skeeter Boats for 43 years in the Research and Development department. He was a Methodist and a member of the Elks Lodge #1128 and the VFW Post 4002.He is survived by his wife: Sue, of Karnack; son: Bret Owens of Richardson; step daughter: Jeannie Davis of Longview; step sons: James and Roger Hagood of Longview; brother: Jesse Mack Owens of Uncertain; sisters: Betty Lou Hughes of Houston and Sarah Lynn Plunkett of Longview; grandchildren: Kayla and Kyle Owens and five 5 step grandchildren; Eric and Lyndsey Hagood, Tre?, Keenan and Shannon Davis.
