John Allen Storey
Funeral services for John Allen Storey, 69, of Longview will be held at Ten O'clock AM Saturday June 21, 2008 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home 1617 Judson Road with Monsignor Xavier Pappu officiating. A Rosary service will be held prior to the funeral service. John died Monday June 16, 2008 at a local hospital.
John was born January 26, 1939 in Pekin, IL to Luther C. and Helen Wascherle Storey.
He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army, retired from Rhor Aircraft, San Diego, CA and from Western New Mexico University, Silver City, NM.
His parents Helen and Luther Storey preceded him in death. He is survived by his brother, Bill, and wife Loretta, nieces, Leslie Cady and husband Bill of Arlington, Melissa McBride and husband Billy Don of White Oak, Carla Storey of Ft. Worth, and Rebecca Storey of Santa Clara, CA, as well as nephew Derek Storey and wife Shelley and their children Chiriana and Joseph of Garland.
John was a person that never stopped learning. He had a hobby in leatherworking that started him on the road to making an excellent leatherwork. John, through his life, never met a stranger who didn't become a friend. He was always ready to help someone whether it be a minor or major problem.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday June 20, 2008 from 6-8 pm at Rader Funeral Home.
