Mrs Joelyn was such a friend to my Mom, Anna Tucker, before she passed a year ago at Buckner. I enjoyed visiting with her & Ms Ella at their table each meal! They met at the Skilled Nursing & became fast friends at the Assisted Living. In my Mom’s last days, the nurses brought Ms Joelyn to visit her. Mom was semiconscious but she revived to tell Mrs Joelyn she loved her. Then Mrs Joelyn prayed for Mom. My pastor husband was on the phone & told me later, that lady prayed a powerful prayer!! Don’t you know they are enjoying visiting & introducing their husbands to each other!! Such sweet memories of a giant lady of faith! So sorry for your loss but what a blessing to know she is without pain or any issues in her body! Let your memories comfort your heart in the coming weeks! Debbie Tucker Lewis
One of my favorite memories of Joelyn & Tommy is when we were about 6 years old my cousin, Linda Andress Earnhart, and I were Flower Girls in their wedding in a precious, tiny, oldfashioned Baptist Church in Borger, Texas. It is still there today. In loving memory to all, Cathie Andress Kimbell
Joelyn was to me a special gift and treasure, a sweet friend that sticks close like a sister. The most precious thing we shared was our love for the Word of God and our relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We taught Precept Bible studies together at FBC Broken Arrow for many years and grew together in our faith as women, teachers of the Word and our friendship.
I was so blessed to be Joelyn's friend, confident and prayer partner. We talked on the phone many times after she moved to Texas and prayed together for each other, for our ministries and our families. What a blessing it always was to chat about life and then spend time seeking the Lord together in prayer.
My most recent sweet memory was about two years ago when I was able to drive down to Longview to visit her after Tommy passed. I am so thankful that I was able to see her in person and share a weekend together.
And more than anything, I'm thankful I will see my sister again (soon). Praise Jesus that she is safely in His arms and that she is enjoying a wonderful reunion with Tommy and her family and friends who have gone on before. Love and prayers to Joelyn's family at this special time of remembering her life.
