Joel McTee's Obituary
A memorial service for Joel McTee, 49, of Longview will be held at the Church at Lake Cherokee on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 1:00 pm, with Father Mike Maxwell officiating. The church is located on the west side of 2011, ½ mile from FM 1716.The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Friday, December 28, 2012. Mr. McTee passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2012 in Longview.
Mr. McTee was born in McKinney, Texas to James and Linda McTee on April 19, 1963. He enjoyed college football, cooking in his man cave, and being surrounded by those he loved. He compassionately loved his wife, cherished his family, and adored his friends and pets. His life was full of love, kindness, and fun. People knew Joel for his charismatic smile and upbeat attitude; and his zest for life was unmatched.
Joel was a dedicated employee of Luminant formerly TXU/TUCO for 32 years where he held various leadership roles including Maintenance Supervisor and, most recently, Support Superintendent responsible for the Engineering Department and Plant Outage Planning and Coordination for the Martin Lake Facility in Tatum, TX.
He is survived by his wife Angie McTee of Longview; son Jaron McTee of Bentonville, Arkansas; daughters and sons-in-law Lindsey McTee and Corey Jones of Kilgore; Ashley McTee and Sergeant Joshua Barron of Iwakuni, Japan; grandchildren Taelor and Mason Barron; Parents James and Linda McTee of Lake Wales, Florida; sister and brother-in-law Stephanie and Randall Booth of Deberry, Texas.
