Joe E. Rains' Obituary
Joe E. Rains of Longview, Texas, passed away March 6, 2015. Mr. Rains was born to W.E. and Allie Rains of Plano, Texas, in 1923. He was married to his beloved wife, Grace Taylor Rains of Tyler, for 72 years. He served in the army during World War II and retired from his auto mechanic position with Jack 'O Diamonds in 1985 after 28 years of service. He was a devoted husband and father and was always willing to give a helping hand to those in need.
Survivors include, wife, Grace Rains; daughters, Dorothy McAuley and husband, John, of Winnsboro, Linda Ferguson of Longview, and Pat Hutcheson and husband, William, of Longview; three grandsons, Randy Ferguson and wife, Jo Lee, of Longview; Justin Hutcheson and wife, Elizabeth, of Tyler, and Clint McAuley and wife, Carly, of Dayton, Tennessee; one granddaughter, Amanda Hutcheson of Longview; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Leible and Marie Davlin of Tyler.
Mr. Rains' service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1 p.m.- 2 p.m. He will be buried at Lakeview Cemetery in Longview.
