Joe Bob McCracken SR.'s Obituary
Joe Bob McCracken SR, 84, of Longview joined his Lord and Savior in Heaven on February 17, 2019.
He was born on December 14, 1934 in Dallas to Lottie Marie and R.B. McCracken. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1954 and enlisted in the US Army shortly thereafter. After honorably discharging from the US Army, he worked at International Harvester until 1983.
Joe Bob was saved June 2, 1981 and was a member of New Covenant Church in Longview. Jesus transformed his life in such a way, he made sure he told everyone he met about Jesus. He met his true calling when he began his career at Goodwill Industries. He looked at his job as Executive Director at Goodwill of the Pines as being in a ministry to help people. His motto was not Goodwill, but Godwill. He was committed to making a difference in people’s life through ministry. After his love for God, Joe Bobs passions were golfing and fishing.
Greeting Joe Bob in heaven are parents Lottie Marie and R.B. McCracken, sister Shirley Baggett, grandparents Mama Mac and Daddy Mac.
Survivors include daughter, Debra McCracken Crawford of Henderson, son Joe Bob McCracken Jr and wife Sara Beth of Whitehouse, daughter Cristi McCracken of Overland Park, Kansas, companion Vicki Clark of Longview, grandchildren Crystal and Mark Bird of Mount Enterprise, Casie and David Summers of Cypress, Allie McCracken and Grace McCracken of Whitehouse, great grandchildren Crawford, Chandler, Catherine, Mary, Abigail and Castle.
