Dr. Joe M Hendrix Joe Morris Hendrix of Longview, Texas passed away peacefully in Plano, Texas on February 10th after a long and hard-fought battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Joe was born on August 9, 1930 in Madisonville, TX to Jo Read Obituary
Dr. Joe M. Hendrix was an extraordinary educator who knew how to get things done! He was instrumental in getting many programs started, one of them being The East Texas Police Academy. He was known to many as "the hero of Vocational Education" as he motivated many to put their skills to work in furthering their education and training.
In addition, Dr. Joe was an excellent baker and proponent of the Culinary Arts. He always made sure that new instructors were thoroughly welcomed on his team, and those leaving were acknowledged by hosting receptions for them, as he encouraged them in their new endeavors. He often did the catering himself for these events.
Dr. Joe M. Hendrix Ed, D. will be greatly missed, and will always be remembered. God speed, Dr. Joe!
