Joe G. Comer's Obituary
On Saturday June 12,2021, Joe Glynn Comer, of Longview, loving husband, father and grandfather went to be with the Lord at the age of 86.
Joe was born June 15 in Groesbeck, TX to Christopher and Sally Comer. He spent many years working in the electrical industry, where he retired after 30 years with Swepco as a Journeyman Meter Electrician.
On November 6, 1958, Joe married the love of his life Freddie Kay Smith.
Married for 54 years, they enjoyed spending time with their kids and grandkids, traveling the country and camping with their close friends. They also loved attending church at Spring Hill First Baptist.
Joe had a passion for family. He also was avid model train collector and diehard UT Longhorn fan. You could always find him watching either sports or a good western with family and friends. He was always known for his sweet smile and his patient, kind, and compassionate spirit.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and sister, his wife Freddie Kay, son Joey Comer and baby Julie Kay Comer.
He is survived by his son Chad Comer, daughter and son in law Cindy and Kim Blevins, daughter in law Christi Comer, son Paul Glynn Comer. His grandchildren Jeremy Comer, Zach Blevins, Casey McKnight, Brittany Jordan, Apryl Comer, Justin Comer, Sarah Comer, Makayla Comer and 9 great grandchildren.
