Jody Kevin Ribble's Obituary
Funeral services for Jody Kevin Ribble, age 43 of Henderson, will be held on Tuesday October 26, 2010 at 10:30 am in the chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Henderson with Rev. Josh Blizzard officiating.. Military graveside rites will follow at Bethel Cemetery.
Jody Kevin Ribble was born June 26, 1967 went to be with our Lord and Savior on October 23, 2010 after a courageous 10 year battle with Leukimia. Kevin was born in Dallas, Texas to Phyllis and Joda Ribble. He is survived by wife Ann, daughter Taylor and son Hudson. Also surviving are his parents Phyllis and Joda Ribble: sister Gina Golub and husband Andy; Uncle Jack Adam, Aunt Carolyn Rhea; multiple cousins and many many friends. Kevin was preceded in death by grandparents Thomas and Louise Johnson; Dorothy and Joe Ribble, Aunt Carolyn Adam and special friend Ralph Stokes Jr.
Kevin graduated Henderson High School in 1985. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the Navy November 1987. His primary expertise was Submarine Radioman. He continually moved through the ranks while serving two tours as a Radioman. Between tours as a Radioman, he became Senior Navy Drug & Alcohol Counselor. Kevin finished his military career serving in direct line with commanding and executive officers. While with USN Commander Submarine Group he received numerous medals commendations until his retirement in 2005. He graduated from the University of Phoenix in 2008 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management. At the time of his death he was employed by Cassity Jones in Carthage. Kevin loved the Cassity Jones family and throughout his illness Cassity Jones returned that love.
Kevin was the epitome of a true friend, never to meet a stranger and always wearing a smile. Kevin never spoke an ill word of any person. Mischievous at heart, he loved his family, life, friends, and co-workers with an endless energy. A love of nature, he stayed on the water and in the woods. Every chance he gotand when Ann allowed he surrounded himself with nature.
Pallbearers will be Michael "Stick" Jackson, Paul Morrison, David Hughes, Derek Tally, Bryan Stillwell, Daniel Crawford, Trey Hacker and Kevin Green. Honorary Pallbearers will be Buck Moon, Ron Zink, Patrick Shipp, David Spivey, James Adam, Mike "Pops" Jackson, Newt Hudson, Gary Hayes, Mike Quinn, Allen Gaylean, Danny Hutto, Joey Watts, John Gary, Burl Richards, Adam Robinson, Kevin Dobbs, Jody Simmons, Bobby Davis, Joey Briones, Woody Jernigan, Ralph Stokes Jr.
The family will meet friends at the funeral home from 6~8pm Monday Night.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
