Jody Jo Dyar

Marilyn Jo Dyar, lovingly known as “Jo,” was born on January 23, 1960, and passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, surrounded by love. A cherished resident of Diana, Texas, Jo was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who brought warmth and kindness to all who knew her. Jo graduated from White Oak High School in 1978, where she proudly served as a cheerleader. Her passion for working with children shaped her life’s work. Over the years, she dedicated herself to nurturing young minds through roles in local daycares and schools. She also served as a cheerleading sponsor for Gladewater ISD and New Diana ISD. Her commitment to education culminated in her position as librarian and bus driver at Robert F. Hunt Elementary in New Diana, where she retired in August 2019 after years of service that left a lasting impact on students and colleagues alike. In retirement, Jo embraced life with joy alongside her beloved husband of 45 years, Randy Dyar. Together, they created countless memories during camping trips with family and treasured time spent with their grandchildren—her “Sunshine's,” Tanner (16), Sahara (11), and Kayleigh (10). Jo found happiness in reading, taking road trips with her "Shelby" Friends, and sharing laughter and love with those closest to her. Jo was preceded in death by her parents, JL and Jo Sebren; her firstborn son, Dustin Thomas; and her older brother, Tony Sebren. She is survived by her husband Randy; sons Jeremy (Patricia) and Adam (Alexia); grandchildren Tanner, Sahara, and Kayleigh; siblings Belinda (Darrel) Hearn and Joni (John) Palmertree; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Jo’s legacy of love and laughter will forever live in the hearts of all who knew her. May the memory of her radiant smile bring comfort to those she leaves behind. A Celebration of Life for Jody will be held at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Longview on Thursday, January 9 at 2pm, with a time of visitation held one hour prior to the service. * In the case of inclement weather we will update all friends and family if the memorial service will need to be rescheduled.
