Joann “Nanner” Burks went to be with Jesus peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on February 5, 2023.
She was born on February 5, 1964, to Larry and Kathy Touchstone in Hattiesburg MS.
She loved her family and friends as well as her dog Yogi, she was a master cook and most of us would tell you that’s where many memories were made. She made a living with her cleaning skills and being an amazing housewife. She was known for having words of wisdom to share and her funny sayings her grandkids always got a good laugh from. She enjoyed the outdoors, spending time in her garden and being with her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Touchstone, mother-in-law Martha Burks, and niece Tabitha Coleman.
She is survived by her devoted husband and best friend of 33 years, Pete B. Burks; sons Dustan Anderson and David Anderson; daughter Nikki Recer and Ryan Recer; grandkids Haleigh and her husband Ricky, Bryan, Kason, Mylie, Madisyn, Declan, Dayton and Rhylee; one great-grandkid Aliyah; sisters Sherry (Mike) Morris, Cindy (Johnny) Robison, and Sandy (James) Kovach as well as many nieces and nephews.
