Joan Ruth Walton Fugler
Joan Ruth Walton Fugler, of Longview, passed from this life of natural causes at the age of 70, on Thursday, November 20, 2003. Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 24, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, with the Reverend Spurgeon Dunnam, Jr. and Kelly Coghlan officiating. Burial was in Memory Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Fugler was born June 3, 1933 in Stamford, Texas. She attended Stamford High School where she graduated Valedictorian of her 1951 graduating class. She received her nursing degree from Hardin Simmons University graduating Cum Laude. She was employed by Sabine Valley Center, MHMR, and had previously worked for Dr. James Johnson for twenty-five years. Mrs. Fugler was a member of the Wesley-McCabe United Methodist Church where she volunteered as a youth leader from 1965 to 1974.
She was preceded in death by her husband of ten years, Richard Fugler.
Joan is survived by her two sons, Jon Marc Johnson, Jr. of Longview and Leroy ?Lee? W. Johnson of Lake Highlands, Dallas; a granddaughter, Kendall Johnson of Lake Highlands, Dallas; step-mother, Doris Walton of Cisco; half-brothers, Joe Walton of Cisco and Ronnie Walton of Richardson; and half-sister, Peggy Ledbetter of Cisco; and many beloved friends.
