I was sad to hear of Joan's passing. She was my cousin on my mother's side of the family. We shared the same grandfather, Wade McCarty. Hard to realize she is gone even though I haven't seen her in years. Praying for Johnny, Karen, Ron, and kids that will miss her dearly.
No matter how difficult the day,Joan was able to make that day better. Her smile, and her easy laugh, were so very important to each of her many friends. May found their way through life a much easier path because of her. We were blessed to have her as a classmate and as a friend.
I worked with Joan for many years at DADS. She was a great friend whom I shared wonderful times with. She would keep me laughing and on my toes looking out for a prank. I will miss her dearly. May God bless the family and bring you comfort.

My dad is William A Ames, Joan's cousin. Foster was my grandmother's (Kathryn Ames) brother. Joan was always so fun to be around, always full of laughter! I have a lot of great memories of her. We are so sorry for the loss of such a wonderful lady!
My mother, Kathryn Jane Ames was raised with Joan. The times I met her with my mom were good times. My prayers are with you.
