Mrs. Jo Ann Gideon's Obituary
Graveside services for Jo Ann Gideon, 82, of Hallsville, will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, July 09, 2014 at Hallsville Cemetery with Alan Porter officiating. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Gideon passed away Saturday night at her home. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Jo Ann was born on May 20, 1932 in Houston, Texas to Victor and Thelma Palmer. She graduated from Aldine HS in Houston in 1950. Mrs. Gideon was employed by Hallsville ISD for 25 years and was a member of Alpine Church of Christ. . The family would like to extend special thanks to her caregiver Genevieve Pearce.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, George Palmer.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 61 years, Walter Gideon of Hallsville; her sister Judy O’Neal of Whitehouse; her daughter and son-in-law Tammy and Jon Draper; her sons and daughters-in-law Larry and Angie Gideon, Ronnie and Kim Gideon, and Mark and Lisa Gideon. She was also the beloved “Memi” to 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; and will be greatly missed by her furry friend “Susie”.
