Jo Ann Stempel's Obituary
Funeral services for Jo Ann Stempel, 77, of Longview, will be 10 AM Wednesday in the First Baptist Church Ford Chapel with Dr. Rick Webb officiating. Interment will be in Rosewood Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM.
Mrs. Stempel died Monday morning in a Longview hospital.
She was born August 6, 1929 in Indianapolis, Indiana and attended Miami University of Ohio and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega. She and her husband moved to Longview in 1996 coming from Coleman, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in Coleman. Mrs. Stempel was a charter member of M & M Investment Club of Longview. She was known for her quick wit and sharp mind. She was the family social secretary and historian. When anyone needed to know something, she was consulted for the right answer.
Mrs. Stempel is survived by her husband of 56 years: J. Hugh Stempel of Longview; daughter: Susan Wilson and husband David of Longview; grandchildren: Sarah Medin and husband Tim of Longview, John D. Wilson of Waco, Chris S. Wilson of Longview and Mark T. S. Wilson of San Antonio and her friends in the M & M Investment Club.
