Jo Ann Freeman's Obituary
Jo Ann Gober Freeman was born February 8, 1935, in Pittsburgh, Texas, and went home to be with God on May 31, 2018, in her home in Diana surrounded by her family.
Jo Ann married James Lee Freeman on May 24, 1956 in Alabama. James and Jo Ann moved to Longview in 1968 with their three children. Jo Ann was always involved with church activities from teaching Sunday school classes and vacation bible school to mission trips.
Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, James Lee Freeman; one grandson, Michael Robert Freeman; and one great grandson, Austin James Huey.
Mrs. Freeman is survived by her children; one daughter, Teresa Huey; and two sons, Mike Freeman and wife, Sheila; and Scott Freeman and wife, Michelle; her grandchildren; Michael Huey and wife, Carly; Jennifer Franklin and husband, Timothy; Christopher Huey and wife, Haley; Jessica Garner and husband, Cole; Joseph Freeman and wife, Susan; Macie Brubaker, Sean Freeman, Gabbie Freeman, and Lexie Freeman; and siblings; Patsy Girard and husband, Bill; Jerry Gober and wife, Brenda; Terry Gober and wife, Trish; and Joyce Poth.
She was a proud great grandmother of twelve great grandchildren, survived by eleven; Drew Huey, Taylor Huey, Landon Huey, Ava Freeman, Kayla Huey, Laycie Huey, Peyton Garner, T.J. Huey, Grayson Huey, Barrett Brubaker, and Madeline Garner.
Services for Jo Ann Freeman, 83, of Diana will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 5th, at East Mountain Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Smith officiating with the viewing starting at 9 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the East Mountain Cemetery following the services under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
Mrs. Freeman was a member of the First Baptist Church Diana. She has left a rich legacy and will always be loved by us all.
The family would like to thank Dr. Leatherman and Dr. Massare and their staff for all the compassionate care over the last 16 years. The family sends a very special thank you to the staff of Heart to Heart Hospice for their caring help and comfort during this time.
