Funeral services for Jimmy Dale Duncan, 85, will be at noon, Monday March 16, 2026, at Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Longview, Texas . with Pastor Tony Harp officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 to noon prior to the service. Burial will be at Elderville Cemetery located at 15760 Tx 322, Longview, TX.
Jimmy Dale Duncan was born May 12, 1940 in Norphlet, Arkansas to Samuel Earl and Susan Joy Duncan. He attended and graduated from Fairview High School in Camden, Arkansas.
One of the things Jimmy loved to do was skate and was good at it. During his younger years he got a job at the local skating rink. During high school he met the love of his life, Imogene Ruth Jones and later they got married. He made a living as a welder. They moved to Longview and lived in one of the concrete houses that were built by LeTourneau Mfg. where Jimmy went to work. They later moved to Lake Cherokee. He became an independent welder and then went to work at Trinity Industries till 2007 when he fully retired while still living on the lake. He loved to fish and hunt.
He is preceded in death by wife, Imogene Duncan, his parents Samuel and Susan Duncan, siblings William Earl Duncan, Betty Sue Burgett, David Allen Duncan, and brother-in-law J. T. Burgett.
Jimmy is survived by his sons Ronnie Duncan and wife Barbara of Longview, Tx, Tommy Duncan and wife Jackie of Cypress, Tx and Timmy Duncan and wife Selee of Hallsville, Tx brother Gary Duncan of Bueche, Louisiana, sisters-in-law Patti Duncan of Shreveport, Louisiana, Tamara Bello of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Fern Slocom and husband David from Camden, Arkansas, Betty Duncan of Camden,Arkansas and grandchildren Misty Hassell, Jared Duncan, Steven Duncan, Landon Duncan, Macee Duncan, Colton Duncan and eight great-grand children and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Jared Duncan, Landon Duncan, Colton Duncan, Hunter Hassell, Mason Hassell, Don Burgett, and Doug Speer. Honorary pallbearers are Micheal Burgett and Alex Paddie.
