To Carol, Tina and Becky,
I have known Jimmy almost as long as Carol did. In fact, after she agreed to go out with him for the first time, she began to get cold feet. She talked me into going with them to the rodeo. I don't know what he thought at first, but we all had a good time. She was on her own from then on.
I married before they did, so we never lived in the same town again. That didn't keep us apart, because we visited them and played a lot of games of 42 on our visits to Longview. We stayed close friends all these years.
Yes, Jimmy was a rather quiet person most of the time, but he had a heart of gold. He suffered much pain, but I hope all of you can find comfort in the fact that he is now free of all pain and at peace. I will always cherish my memories of him.
With my deepest sympathy and love,
