Jimmy Cardwell's Obituary
Jimmy Cardwell passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024, surrounded by his family. Jimmy Art Cardwell was born on March 28, 1935, in Peacock, Texas. He was born to Lorene Copeland Wallis and Artie Lee Cardwell. He married his high school sweetheart, Bertha Modrall on May 25, 1953. After a short career with the railroad, he found his passion in the oilfield industry.
JImmy began his 29 year career with Dowell as a equipment operator in 1962.During his 29 years he continued to advance into management ending his career as the manager for the ARK-LA-TEX district in 1991.
Through the years the Cardwell family developed a love of camping together during vacations and holidays. This led to Jim and Bertha's exploration of the states in their motor home during their retirement years .
Jimmy loved to work with his hands and created many treasures for his family and friends in his wood shop. He also enjoyed spending time with his grand and great grandchildren.
Jimmy leaves behind his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to cherish his memory. He is survived by his daughter Becky Marino Falgout and husband Louis, son JD Cardwell and wife Debbie. His grandchildren Travis and Alicia Cardwell; Jason and Nicole Cardwell; Trent and Sarah Marino; Morgan and Johnny Bebeau; Brittany and Jason Kelly; and Tyler Cardwell, HIs great grandchildren Caraline, Brayton, Caleb, Adelyn, , Samuel, Ellee and his sister-in-law Winona Thompson.
He is preceded in death by his wife Bertha Cardwell and son Bryant Cardwell.
Services will be held in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Noon. The family will receive friends at the funeral from 11:20 to noon prior to the service.
