Jimmie Lee Rose's Obituary
Jimmie Lee Rose passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016, in Longview, TX. Services will be held on Friday, June 10th at 11:00 a.m. at the Alpine Church of Christ in Longview. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 9th, from 6pm - 8pm at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. A family graveside service will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m., with military honors, at the Prospect Cemetery in Emory, TX.
Jimmie was born in Lone Oak, TX, July 14, 1931. He graduated from Greenville High School. Jimmie is a veteran of the U.S. Navy with 21 years of service and retired as a Master Chief. He also retired as a mail carrier from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a Christian servant who visited the sick and elderly, delivered Meals on Wheels, and worked with Caring and Sharing. He loved to travel with his wife, play golf with his buddies, watch the Rangers and Cowboys, work crossword puzzles, and play 42 with family and friends.
Jimmie is survived by his wife, Patricia Rose, and his 7 children: Shirley Bell (Ron Bell) of Austin, TX, Kathy Rose (Dan Lane) of Woodland, CA, Karen Rose of Arlington, TX, Jimmie Douglas Rose (Nancy Rose) of Ingleside, TX, Janice Boykin of Leawood, Kansas, Susan Watkins (Greg Watkins) of Cedar Hill, TX, and Marcia Jury (Jon Jury) of Pagosa Springs, CO. He is additionally survived by 2 step-sons: Keith Fulfer (Nancy Fulfer) of Collierville, TN and Ken Fulfer (Cindy Fulfer) of Houston, TX. He is also survived by his sister, Carolyn Thom Stowell of Frazier Park, CA and his sister-in-law, Mary Rose, of Wills Point, TX. Jimmie was predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Carolyn Smith Rose, in 1989. Jimmie had 33 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Jimmie Lee Rose was beloved by all of his family and friends.
