Jimmie L. Palmer's Obituary
Jimmie Leith Palmer, 85, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, March 21, 2018 after a lengthy illness. Jimmie was born on July 28, 1932 in Gilmer, Texas. He graduated from Pine Tree High School in 1948. He was in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Merchant Marines. Jimmie worked for Lone Star Steel for 25 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid golfer. He enjoyed gardening, reading, music, traveling, playing cards and dominos. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Jimmie is survived by his two daughters Debbie Palmer Sadler of Longview and Karen Palmer Seuser of Newton, KS and son-in-law Kevin Seuser, daughter-in-law Jeannette Palmer of Waxahachie; grandchildren Kimberly Palmer Chapman, Bryan Palmer, Benjamin Seuser and Ashley Seuser; brother Dennis Palmer and sisters-in-law Delores Palmer and Faye Palmer; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife Minnie Mae Palmer, his parents Charles and Virginia Palmer, son George Palmer, Brothers, Charles, Harold, Garth, Thurston, Randall, John, Dan, Gene and sister Colleen.
The family would like to thank Buckner Assisted Living, Elite Private Care and Hospice Plus for their loving care of Jimmie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Summerfield Cemetery Fund.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home in Longview on Thursday, March 22, 2018. Graveside service will be held Friday, March 23, 2018 at noon at Summerfield Methodist Cemetery with Chaplain Rick Webb officiating.
