Jimmie Joe Kendrick, Sr.Jimmie Joe Kendrick, Sr., born August 18, 1936 in Hominy, OK, passed away on Thursday, July 25, at his home. Jim was preceded in death by his parents A.Joe and Effie B. Kendrick. Jim is survived by his wife, Phyllis J. Kendrick, of the home; son Jimmie Joe Kendrick, Jr. and wife Susan of Saginaw, Texas, daughter Kathie Morrison and husband Audie of Gilmer; daughter Dr. D. Susan Kendrick of Emporia, Ks. And grandchildren, Dixie Wood and husband Eric of Pensacola, Fl, Joshua D. Kendrick, Viki and Freddie Acosta of Saginaw and children, Sabrina Ward and children, A.R. Matthew C. Holcomb, US Navy and Mallory C. Holcomb of Gilmer, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Charlene and Don Anthony of Midwest City, Ok; Niece Kimberly Anthony of Tulsa, OK; and uncle Jack Kendrick of Cushing, OK; Brother -in-law and sister-in-law, Dorman and Verna Riddles of Cleburne, TX.; brother-in-law, Robert King of Ft. Worth, TX.; sister-in-law, Joyce Schlegel of Shawnee, OK.; and mother -in-law, Eva Hayter of Longview; TX.; Numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins.In addition to his immediate family, Jim will be greatly missed by the fraternal family of the Elks and a host of friends and neighbors who shared his life on a daily basis. Jim was awarded an honorary life membership in the Elks Lodge #1128 and served as State Elk of the year in 1982-83. Jim?s life long service to the Elks allowed him to do things he most enjoyed, which included cooking for the Elks, serving the teens and advocating love and fellowship for all mankind.Jim transferred to Longview from Cushing, Oklahoma in 1974 while working for CITGO Petroleum and retired in 1996. He was a member of the Founders Christian Church in Longview.Funeral services will be held at Ten O?clock A.M. Monday July 29, 2002 at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation will be accorded. The family has requested that memorial contributions may be made to the Elks Teen Scholarship Fund, PO Box 123, Longview, TX. The family will receive friends in their home, as well as from 3 PM - 5pm Sunday at the funeral home.
