Jimmie Charles Weisinger's Obituary
Jimmie Charles Weisinger, 72, of Longview, lost his battle with cancer on July 1, 2012.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday, July 6, 2012, at Elmira Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Reverend Jimmy Cantey and Reverend Jesudoss Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Rader Funeral Home, Longview, The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM.
Jimmie was born November 15, 1939 in Frost, Texas and graduated from Talco High School in 1957. One of his proudest accomplishments was his graduation from "Comanche County Cannon Cocker's College" in Lawton, Oklahoma as a 2nd Lieutenant. He was a shift foreman at Eastman Kodak and retired in 1993 after 28 years.
Jimmie was a member of Elmira Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church and had served as an
Elder. He was also a member of the Spring Hill Lions Club. He loved to cook, hunt and fish and was known for his beautiful garden. He loved his family and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. Jimmie didn't travel much but he was determined to see his grandson, Devan, graduate from high school. He made that trip to Bridgeport, TX in May 2011 which was his last trip.
Jimmie met the love of his life in 1956 and they were married in 1964. His only regret was that his wasn't able to give his wife 50 years of marriage.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda, children: Jimmie Lynn and Ronda Weisinger of Longview, Lisa and Logan Lobue of Edmond, Oklahoma, John Weisinger of Longview and Leslie and Darrell Paull of Longview, grandchildren: Cary Lynn Weisinger, Josh Weisinger, Devan Lobue Brady Lobue, Shelly Yoder, Toni Childress, John Michael Weisinger, Brandt Weisinger, Krista Roberts, Darrell Paull, Jr. and Elizabeth Janee Paull, great grandchildren: Jacey Yoder and Zoey D'Ann Yoder, Brother: Royce and Carolyn Weisinger of Bedford, sister in law: Rita Reindl of Longview, brother in law: Richard and Judy Shaw of Aurora, Colorado and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Cary, Josh, Devan, Brady and John Michael Weisinger and D. J. Paull. Honorary pallbears will be Bruce Scoggins, Gene King, Jody Modisette, Larry Currington, Bill Bolt, Allan Cameron and Ray Paull.
