RIP. Jim.✝️️ Prayers for your family..🙏✝️️
Dear Osburn family,
I don’t even know if I have the right Jim Osburn, but if I do I thought you might enjoy this memory. If this is the Jimmy I knew, we went to Gaston elementary school together between Turnertown & Henderson before I moved to Henderson in 1950. Although the obit didn’t mention Gaston, I’m almost certain I have the right Jim, and I thought you would like this little memory: When I (& Jim) was in first grade at Gaston in ‘48, I was elected Princess of the school for our annual Gaston carnival. And I had to have an escort to walk beside me down the aisle the night of the big festivities. I chose my little boyfriend Jerry Patterson, but my teacher said oh no he is too short to walk beside you, and we want you to walk with Jim Osburn, who’s taller than you.:joy:. Well of course I threw a royal fit, & went crying to my mother, but the teacher had made up her mind and that was it—I was to walk with Jim not Jerry. LOL. So Jim and I were a cute couple that night and became friends, and he was such a lovely person and friend.:hearts: My maiden name was Ann Holmes. We lived in Turnertown, & my dad owned the Holmes Bro’s. Welding Co./Shop near the only red light on the highway “downtown”.
And I would appreciate it very much if you would drop me an email to let me know I have the right people: [email protected]
Thank you very much, and God bless.
