Jessie Allyne (Tyner) Goforth's Obituary
Jessie Allyne Goforth was born July 2, 1921 in Bazzette, Texas the sixth child of Jesse Edward and Dicey Allena Tyner. Allyne had six fine brothers and sisters -- Opal, Dee, Jie, Roy, Mildred and Hayden.
Allyne Tyner married Dade Goforth on June 29, 1940 at their ripe old ages of 18. Their honeymoon was enjoyed in the cotton fields. They raised four kids. Danny, born August 1945. Rodney, born December 1950. Tina, born October 1953. Ed, born May 1955. Tina passed away in 1974.
While Dade provided the living with Brown and Root, Allyne took care of the home front, which was a far more difficult job than most can imagine. They lived in over 55 towns, traveling from job to job in the Construction business. As soon as they would land in the new town, Dade would be at the jobsite. Allyne took care of everything – finding a house, getting utilities set up, unpacking and moving in, school registrations, doctors, dentists, transferring records, paying the bills, groceries, cooking, cleaning, laundry, and a mile long list, not the least of which included finding a church. She took her children to church Sunday mornings, Sunday nights and Wednesday nights. It seems that she worked sun up to sun down, and beyond, every day.
Her interest was family and friends. She enjoyed people. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and most recently, immensely enjoyed her great-great-grandchild every day. Allyne had a warm compassionate way about her. You just felt loved and accepted and forgiven when you were in her presence. She taught her children to pray, taught them who God is, taught them compassion. Allyne was as fine a person as has ever lived.
