Jesse Eugene "Gene" McDonough's Obituary
Funeral services for Jesse Eugene “Gene” McDonough, age 91 of Henderson, will be held Tuesday July 23, 2019 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with John Sloan officiating, burial will follow in the Crims Chapel Cemetery. Mr. McDonough was born October 26, 1927 in Henderson to Calvin Russell and Anna Elizabeth McDonough. Gene was a lifetime resident of Henderson and Rusk County, he was retired from the Texas Railroad Commission after 38 years of service. He had also worked for Exxon Oil Company and was a custom home builder. Gene was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy, and member of the Trinity Baptist Church.
Mr. McDonough was preceded in death by his wife Barbara, his parents, sister Jonell Duran and husband Gay, brother Jimmy McDonough and brother in law Grover Gilbert. Survivors include niece Elizabeth Duran Anderson of Henderson, nephew Dan Duran of Oakdale, CA, niece Cathy Thompson of Katy, niece Deborah Sevin and husband Brian of Midland, numerous great, and great great nieces and nephews. Also surviving sister in laws Elizabeth (Liz) Sloan of Longview, Norma Taylor and husband John of Tyler and Frances Gilbert of Tyler, brother in law Larry Gilbert and wife Kathy of Lake Dallas. Pallbearers will be John Sloan, Russ Taylor, Derrick Faulkner, Ben Vinson, John Taylor , Larry Gilbert, Chris Gilbert, and Trey Sloan Visitation will be from 10am ~11am before the service Tuesday.
