Jerry W. Gibbs
Jerry W. Gibbs passed away July 20, 2013 in Longview, Texas.
Services for Jerry will be Tuesday, July 23 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior.
Jerry was born on May 26, 1941 in Naples, Texas to Orb and Edna Gibbs and was the youngest of five children. He graduated from Paul H. Pewitt High School. He was a veteran of both United States Air Force and the East Texas oil industry.
Jerry was a loving husband to Sandra and the proud father of three children as well as a die-hard Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orb and Edna Gibbs; his brothers Boyd Gibbs and Troy Gibbs; a sister, Opal Vissering; a nephew, Hugh Gibbs.
Those left to cherish his memory and laugh out loud are his wife of 49 years and 11 months, Sandra; his son Jeffrey Wayne Gibbs of White Oak; a daughter Renee Bradshaw of Longview; his youngest son, Steven Clarence Gibbs of New York City; grandchildren Garrett Bradshaw, Sarah Bradshaw, Makenna Gibbs, and Jacob Gibbs; His favorite son-in-law and daughter-in-law Darin Bradshaw of Longview, and Wendi Gibbs of White Oak; his sister Peggy Barber of Columbia, MS; his loving father and mother-in-law, Clarence and Ellen Barnes of Longview; a sister-in-law, Maureen Gibbs of Fort Worth, and a brother-in-law Wes Vissering of Naples. Jerry is also survived by ten nieces and nephews and several
great-nieces and nephews, as well as many dear friends. And his cat, Chloe, also of Longview.
