Jerry Luke Rawlinson
A celebration of life for Jerry Luke Rawlinson, 74, will be held at 2 PM, Monday, April 24, 2017 at Rader Funeral Home in Longview with visitation one hour prior to service.
Jerry was born in Nacogdoches County, Cushing, Texas October 22, 1942 to Vertis and Bertie Rawlinson. He graduated from Laneville high School and attended Kilgore College.
One of Jerry’s joys in life came from being an entrepreneur. Over a period of 40 years, he started more than 17 businesses, including Amega Tool Works, Inc. and Amega Systems. One of Jerry’s best qualities was his positive attitude, which helped immensely in his business ventures.
He was on the board of Maple Grove Cemetery and was a Master Mason, a member of Lodge 1396. Jerry attended Minden Baptist Church in Minden, Texas.
Other joys in Jerry’s life were his love of music and going to the farm in Minden. He had a winning personality and a tremendous zest for life.
Jerry was a loving husband and friend He never met a stranger always open to new ideas.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Frances Shaw Rawlinson, Brothers Kerry Dale Rawlinson and his wife Catherine, Terry Rawlinson and his wife Diana; son Dennis Rawlinson and nephew Chuck Rawlinson. Special people in his life were Shawna Chandler, Porfiro Vela, Charlie and Pam Griffin, and George Lara.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Jerry Scott Rawlinson.
