Jerry Edward. Melton
Jerry Melton was born June 22, 1961 in Longview, Texas, He passed away Friday June 18, 2010 after lengthy illness with COPD. He was 48.
He lived in Longview all of his life and graduated from Longview High School where he was in the ROTC.
In spite of physical obstacles, he maintained a cheerful and positive attitude
He is survived by his daughter, Kathryn Whiddon, two grandchildren, Aubreigh Whiddon and Trevor Whiddon, mother and step-father, Mary Ann and Marvin Slaback, father and step-mother, Bill and Janet Melton, brother, Chuck Melton, brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Gail Melton, a special friend, Cynthia Grimmett and his dog Abby was a faithful friend.
Jerry had worked at Lowe's in Commercial Sales but retired because of illness.
Funeral services for Jerry . Melton, 48, of Longview will be held at Two O'clock PM Tuesday June 22, 2010 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home 1617 Judson Road with Reverend Jake Wommer officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Park Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday June 21, 2010 from 6-8pm
