Jerry Lynn Hooton, Jr.'s Obituary
Jerry Lynn Hooton, Jr., age 46, of Dallas, TX passed away December 12, 2016 in Longview, TX. He was born September 11, 1970 in Longview, TX to Jerry, Sr., and Rosella Hooton. It was at the Spring Hill School he attended kindergarten through 12th grade and then graduated with honors and was president of the senior class of 89. He attended Texas A&M University and graduated Cum Laude with honors with a bachelors’ degree in finance, class of 93. Jerry was very active in Student Government, a member of the Symphonic Band and was awarded the prestigious Buck Weirus Spirit Award. After college Jerry entered the finance world and had a successful career for over 20 years where most of that was with Goldman Sachs in Irving, TX. He recently earned the position of one of their Vice Presidents in their IT department. Jerry was always very involved with their volunteer programs in helping the community. Among his many hobbies he was an avid coin collector and Jerry was a true homebody taking pride in his home and the appearance of his yard. He loved spending quality time with his family and friends. Jerry will be sorely missed by all.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents Jerry, Sr., and Rosella Hooton, two half brothers Robert and Joseph Saurenmann.
Jerry’s sister and half brother Sherrie Lee and Steve Saurenmann precede him in passing.
Funeral services will be 2pm Friday, December 16, 2016 at First Lutheran Church of Longview being officiated by Pastor Jeffrey Borgwardt with time of visitation starting at 1pm at the church. Interment will follow services at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
As per Jerry’s request donations may be made to the First Lutheran Church of Longview or the Kraddick Foundation, 220 Las Colinas Blvd E # 210, Irving, TX 75039
Jerry’s parents would like to express a special Thank You to their hero Michelle Jacobs, three angels, Tom Cappello, Ron and Gerry Burger, a special friend Lashaundra and co-workers who were also his friends.
