Growing up in Longview, I remember Jerry as a smart. handsome man, and a brilliant attorney. I extend my deepest sympathy to Risa, his adult children, and grandchildren. May each of you find comfort and peace as many share memories of Jerry.
This obit is very beautifully written; a perfect description of a great man. Jerry was my "uncle-in-law" and I'm so grateful my husband was able to spend so much time with him in the last few years, taking slow drives through Marshall and Longview, reminiscing, while Jerry told stories of his childhood. And fishing! Jay immensely enjoyed fishing trips with Jerry. Without knowing it would be their last, Jay and Jerry fished Ferndale and Caddo just three weeks ago. We also fished in Colorado with him. He hired the guide, of course! We had hoped he could visit us at our Colorado home this summer and do some fly fishing. Jerry always made us feel completely at home when we visited. His generosity was a huge part of who he was and it came right from the heart. He loved sharing with those he loved. Prayers for Risa and all the family💜. See you all on Saturday!
Jerry was a great friend for over 20 years. Spent many days with him fishing and golfing in Vail and enjoyed every minute of it. A true gentleman with great integrity and humor. We will miss him so much but are so thankful for lots of fun times with him and Risa. Jim & Chris Thompson
