Jerold “Jerry” Wayne Burton, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and colleague, peacefully passed away on September 7, 2023, in Longview, Texas, at the age of 63. He was surrounded by his loving family during his last moments.
He was born on March 11, 1960, in Reading, Kansas, to Edward Oliver “Buck” Burton and Leona Esther Spence Burton. From an early age, Jerry exhibited a keen intellect and drive for success. He pursued his education with determination, earning a bachelor’s degree. His unwavering commitment to excellence led him to a successful career, where he made a lasting impact and gained the respect of his colleagues.
Beyond his professional achievements, his true joy in life came from his cherished relationship with his wife, Jennifer Burton. Their love and companionship were an inspiration to all who knew them. A pillar of strength and unwavering support, Jerry's devotion to his family was unmatched.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 24 years Jennifer Burton and 3 children: Jody Belmont and husband Chris of Brooksville, Florida, Hannah Feela of Longview, TX, Mollie Burton of Longview, TX. Jerry also leaves behind grandchildren Ben O’Neal, Zoe O’Neal, and Randi Leann Feela.
Jerry’s life will be celebrated and remembered during the visitation service on September 12, 2023, at 10:00 am, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. A touching funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Friends, family, and those who knew Jerry are invited to pay their respects and share cherished memories of a life well-lived.
Jerold “Jerry” Wayne Burton leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and kindness that will be forever cherished by his adoring family, his colleagues, and all those whose lives he touched.
