Jeral Ann Barkett's Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jeral Ann Barkett, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Longview, Texas, on January 15, 2026, at the age of 94. Ann was born on November 16, 1931, in Sacul, Texas, to Frank Dill and Edna Sides Dill. Ann lived a life marked by resilience, love, and kindness, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth.
Ann met and married Joe Birdwell. From this union came three children, Kathy, Rikki, and Joe. Ann dedicated many years of her life to her career at Texas Eastman, where she was known for her hard work and unwavering dedication. After retiring, she poured her energy into her family and community, always finding ways to uplift those around her. Ann found love again late in life, when she met and married Thomas E. Barkett. She was also a proud member of The Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles (F.O.E.) #4125, and a lifetime member of The Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW.
Ann is preceded in death by her second husband; Thomas Barkett, first husband; Joe Birdwell, parents; Frank and Edna Sides Dill, brothers; Robert N. Dill and James V. Dill, son; Joe Ben Birdwell, granddaughter; Micah Livingston, Grandson; Jason Cornor, and great grandchild; Cain Cornor.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her daughters; Kathy Wright and Rikki Kruse, grandchildren; Ragan Hill and husband Mike, Shane Stevens and wife Heather, along with 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
A graveside service will be held in her honor on January 19, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Rosewood Park Mausoleum Chapel in Longview, Texas. Family and friends are invited to gather as we celebrate the beautiful life of Ann Barkett.
