Jeff and I had the PPG/Axiall connection as well as the Texas A&M connection, he being an Aggie and my being an Aggie Mom. Jeff was a pleasure to know and work with as he had high standards and strong integrity. The only bone I had to pick with him is that he flatly refused multiple requests to reprise his highly acclaimed Barney Fife imitation. Darn!

Oh, Jeff also played basketball over quite a while with my husband and a bunch of serious "older" ballplayers up until he transferred to Natrium and was greatly missed.

I thank the Lord that God's providence got Jeff and Rena situated in the Longview area near daughter Jennifer and family for a time of family closeness and also for such a tragic time as this. Prayers of comfort for Rena, Jennifer, and all who knew and loved Jeff.

I worked with JayBee (that's the nickname I gave him for Jeff Barker. He would call me Are El (for Rose Lavergne)) at LC PPG/Axiall for many years. We stayed in touch - emailing every so often when he was in Natrium and in Longview too. I will definitely miss emailing him to stay in touch. He treated everyone the same. I also nicknamed him NP (for No Partiality) - there were no faves at work - everyone was treated the same. A great boss and friend he was. To Rena and rest of the family - my sincere condolences. May God continue to be with you all and give you strength during this difficult time.

I have been knowing Jeff for 42 years. The year I hired on at PPG in 1977 Jeff came into my life in 1978. There was an immediate connection that I just cannot explain. I worked as an hourly employee for 15 years doing things with Jeff. Hunting and fishing was a big part. We traveled to Nebraska pheasant hunting west Texas fishing and turkey hunting as well as deer and antelope hunting in Wyoming. These are memories I will never forget. As for as work he helped and coached me along the way from 1992 until I retired in 2014. I could always wait on a text or a weekly phone call. He was always checking on me. There won’t be anymore Jeff’s like him. I loved him like a brother. May he Rest In Peace and God bless you Rena’, Jennifer and all of you and Jeff’s wonderful family

My sincere condolences to all of you. I went to high school with Jeff and have memories of him being such a warm, friendly guy. From his obituary it sounds like he didn’t change a bit. Prayers for you as you mourn such a great loss.

I didn't have an opportunity to work with Jeff very often, but I could tell right away that he was an honest hard-working guy, a real straight shooter. I loved talking to him and listening to his stories. He had a great sense of humor and was a major contributor to the success of Westlake’s Longview site. We will all miss him greatly.
