Jeannette Fielder's Obituary
Jeannette Fielder, age 84, passed away August 23, 2012 at Margaret's House, Longview.
She was born October 1, 1927 to William Worthy and Ellen Gertrude Wood of Big Spring, Texas. When she was 10 years old the family moved to Longview, where she attended local schools and graduated from Longview High School in 1945.
Through a blind date Jeannette met Noel Fielder, whom she later married on June 26, 1948 and spent the next 60 years together raising a family in both Longview and Hallsville; moving to Hallsville in 1972.
Jeannette worked for Eastman Kodak Co – Texas Chemical Division, as one of the first women to be employed in the Longview plant.
She enjoyed both camping and fishing with her family. Jeannette also loved to garden and was a member of Winterfield Garden Club.
Jeannette was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord deeply. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Hallsville for many years, later transferring her membership to Valley View Baptist Church in Longview.
Jeannette is survived by three children, Paula Jean Schroeder and her husband Jerry of Longview, Eugene Olin Fielder and his wife Marianna of Oklahoma City, OK and Alan Owen Fielder and his wife Jill of Rochester, NY, grandchildren Bryan Lunsford, Laura Lunsford, Rachel Fielder, Rebekah Bryan McCauley, Anna Sayre McNeil, Allie Fielder, Sam Fielder, Katlyn Fielder and great-grandson, Lane McNeil. She is also survived by her sisters, Eva Ruth Long, Reba Harbour, Lucille Hancock and Mary Jane Mowery.
Jeannette is preceded in passing by her loving husband of 60 years Noel Fielder, Parents William and Ellen Wood, siblings, Hazel Jensen and Roy Wood.
There will be a time of visitation at Rader Funeral Home, Longview Sunday, August 26, 2012 from 5pm – 7pm then funeral services Monday, August 27, 2012 at Valley View Baptist Church, Longview starting at 10 am and officiating, Pastor Tim Lindsay. Interment will be at Hallsville Cemetery following services.
The family would like to express a sincere "Thank You" to Friends of Paverstone Community and Colonial Village, and a very special appreciation to Beacon Hospice for the wonderful care they gave Jeannette.
