Jean Ray Dubois' Obituary
Jean Ray Dubois, lovingly called Paw Paw, 91, died Monday, January 21, 2012, in Longview. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 23 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home on Judson Rd. in Longview, Texas. Graveside services will be held at St. Paul Cemetery in Abbeville, Louisiana on Saturday, January 26th at 10:00 a.m. Reverend L. C. " Bucky" Faggard of High Island, Texas will officiate.
Born January 14, 1922, in Henry, Louisiana. He enlisted at an early age in the U. S. Army and served in World War II. He fought in major conflicts in the South Pacific. He retired from Amoco Production Company after 36 years.
Paw Paw was an avid hunter and fisherman, a true friend to all, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Eleanor Ann Wobbe Dubois, his daughter, Katherine Dubois Johnson, his son, Ray Lee Dubois and his wife Avilou Faggard Dubois and son, Jude Wayne Dubois and his wife Natalie Arnold Dubois; eight grandchildren, Brian Dubois, Joshua Johnson, Maryann Johnson Maurice, Lindsey Dubois Bowden, Ryan Johnson, Jordan Dubois, Jacob Dubois and Jason Dubois; twelve great grandchildren, Alexia, Sadie, Landon, Mason, Kayley, Brooke, Allison, Harlie, Katie, Brody, Griffin and Colton; his sister, Betty Derouen and her husband Alwin, of Abbeville, Louisiana; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonce Dubois and Enite Thibodeaux; brotheR, Lifey Dubois; and his sisters, Thelma Bergeron and Gloria Choate.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to American Legion Post 29 in Abbeville, Louisiana.
