Jean McAvoy's Obituary
Jean Marie McAvoy was born to Walter J. Spike and Edith C. Flynn on April 21, 1934 in Middlesex, Yates County, New York. She married her husband Bill K. McAvoy on February 10, 1962. Jean was a great piano player and met her husband playing in a dance hall band. She loved music and devoted her life to her family. Jean was also a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she played the piano and organ, and served in various capacities.
Jean was preceded in death by her son, William Jay Adam, daughter, Darla Jean McAvoy, and her grandson, Jacob Allen Osborne. She is survived by her husband, Bill McAvoy, her son Tom L. McAvoy and wife Debra, and her daughters, Anita Osborne and husband Mark, and Janna Welker and husband Marcus.
Funeral services for Mrs. McAvoy will be held on Wednesday, January 13 at 11 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Henderson, with a visitation Tuesday evening between 5 and 7 pm at Rader Funeral Home in Henderson. A burial for Mrs. McAvoy will be Thursday at 11 am at McAdams Cemetery in Mineral Wells, TX.
