Cathey, David and Rodney,
Merritt and I are so sorry to learn of the loss of your sweet Mother and our long-time friend, Jean Lawson. She was an Angel of a Friend to us as well as your precious Dad, David Lawson.
My relationship with your family began approximately 60 years ago when my parents and I met you and your parents at Laird Hill Baptist Church. Your Dad became our Interim Pastor after the retirement of our long-time Pastor, Bro. V.M. Nipper. My parents and I became instant friends with you and your parents and we wanted to keep your Dad as our permanent Pastor. As God revealed His Will for our Church, we only had Bro.Dave and Jean with us for one year. Bro. Kenneth Flowers and wife, Marge, accepted our Church’s Call. I was personally sad to know that I wouldn’t be seeing you anymore.
After I married Merritt, I was elated to know that he and your Dad were friends as a result of their employment with Kilgore College. This began a very long happy friendship for me with your Dad and Mom! Merritt and I loved them both sooo much and we will be so happy to reunite with them and our Lord Jesus someday. What a great reunion and rejoicing that will be!
Cathey, David and Rodney, we know that it is with mixed emotions that you had to say goodbye or so-long to you Mom. It’s so hard to say goodbye but how could we as Christian children not feel relieved and happy for them as they are greeted in Heaven by God and His Angels to live in His Heavenly Home that He has prepared for us.
There is not a Day that goes by that I don’t still think of my wonderful Christian parents and how much I miss them in my daily life but I know I will be with them again. Our love and prayers are with you all and with your families.
