Funeral services for Jason Brett Collins ?Bubba?, 32, of Longview will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2007 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with the Reverends Wayne Spanhanks and Charles Thomas officiating. Graveside services are set for 2:00 p.m. at Spring Hill Cemetery in Naples, TX.
The family will receive visitors, Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Jason was born May 29, 1974, and went to be with the Lord on May 5, 2007, with family and friends by his side. Jason attended and played football for Longview High School. He was employed by Lone Star Steel and served on the executive board for United Steel Workers Local 4134. An avid sports fan, Jason loved his Dallas Cowboys! He was assistant coach for the Spring Hill Lugnuts. He was a devoted and deeply loved son, father, husband and friend. He cherished his time with his family and friends and lived his life to the fullest.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Becky Collins; two children, son Corey D. and daughter, Jennifer; mother and father, Linda and Harold Collins of Longview; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruth and David Whittington of Indiana; sister and brother-in-law, Missy and John Coston of Mansfield, TX; grandparents, Dan and Esther Robison of Naples; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Scott and Heather Whittington of Gilmer; ?Brothers?, Jeff Ashby and Duane Howard; and two nieces, Jessica and Hannah and one nephew, Andrew Morris Whittington.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Danny Joe Barhum and grandparents, W. W. and Bertha Collins.
The family would like to give special thanks to the many family and friends that attended to all of our needs during this time.
