Janie Lynn McMahon's Obituary
Jane Lynn Baucum McMahon died peacefully at home in Longview, Texas on Saturday, June 20th, 2009.
Janie Lynn was born on August 17, 1917 in Haynesville, Louisiana to Dr. Daniel Baucum and Sewilla Baucum. She graduated from Longview High School and attended Baylor College, then married William David "Bill" McMahon in 1940.
Janie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She participated in Bible Study at First Presbyterian Church in Longview and was a generous and active volunteer in the community. She enjoyed her investment club, bridge club and social clubs, but most of all Jane enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. Everyone who knew Janie loved her wonderful personality and great sense of humor. She was a gracious hostess. She lived a long and full life.
Jane was predeceased by her mother and father, her sister and brother in law, Adecea and Lloyd Ulbrich of Longview, and her sister and brother in law, Doris and Smith Price of Longview.
Jane is survived by her husband of 69 years, William David "Bill" McMahon; son Daniel David McMahon and wife Mary Jennings McMahon of Austin; and son James Michael McMahon and wife Linda Gray McMahon of Dallas; granddaughter and husband Cristi and Duncan Boyle of Dallas; granddaughter and husband Emily and Scott Smith of New York City; grandsons James Scott McMahon of Dallas; William David McMahon of Austin; and great grandchildren, Masyn, Anna, and Maddie Boyle, and Sutton and Owen Smith.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice.
A memorial service celebrating Jane's life will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at Memory Park Cemetery, with Dr. W. D. O'Neal of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Duncan Boyle, Scott Smith, Scott McMahon, and Will McMahon
