Janie Lou Johnson Goolsby's Obituary
Janie Lou Johnson Goolsby, 82, passed away November 8, 2017 in Longview, TX. She was born August 19, 1935 in Cabot, AR to the late J.B. Johnson and Letha Opal Gray. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Wilson Goolsby and her brother, Buddy Johnson.
She is survived by her children, Michael Goolsby, Vicki Brown, Susan Graham and husband Wes, and Kimberly Goolsby; grandchildren, Brandon Watson and wife Charity, Kimberly Brown, Brittany Gray, Jarrett Gray and wife Katie, Joshua Gibbons, Jessica Gibbons, Tara Goolsby, Michael Goolsby, and Bronson Goolsby; 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Edward and Janie Goolsby were married July 17, 1954 in Longview, TX. Janie was a loving wife of 59 years and raised four children. Janie worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for multiple years, where she made lifelong friends and memories. Janie was also known to be called Momma Janie by numerous lifelong friends of her children. She was loved dearly and will be missed forever. “Rest with the Lord Mother”.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 13, 2017 at the Gum Springs Cemetery in Longview with Reverend Randy Pitts officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
