Janice Oweita Strawn's Obituary
JANICE OWEITA STRAWN Janice Oweita Brazeal Strawn , 84, of Longview went to be with the Lord on June 14, 2009. She was born July 25, 1924 in Lamar County, Texas, the daughter of Odis Dudley and Annie Laura Brazeal. She was the oldest of three children. On July 3, 1944 she married the love of her life, Charles Austin Strawn, to whom she remained married for the next 64 years.She attended Lamar Junior College. She was the loving mother of two children, the beloved grandmother of 4, and the cherished great-grandmother of 13. She was a very active member of her church for many years having taught Sunday school and serving on numerous committees within her church.She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Austin Strawn, her son, Charles Dudley Strawn, and her sister Norma Jean Marlin. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Terrell Hunter of Longview; her sister, Madge Tomblin of Paris, Texas; grandson, Bryan Hunter and family of Ft. Worth; granddaughter, Shannon Beauchamp and family of Ft. Worth; grandson, Ronald Strawn and family of Nacogdoches; granddaughter, Catherine Pickens and family; granddaughter, Dana Kolb and family.Visitation will be at Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Rd. Thursday evening 6 to 8 pm. Services will be Noon Friday at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Bryan Hunter and Robert Johnson officiating with interment to follow at Rosewood Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer?s Association or to the Alpine Church of Christ in Longview.
