Janette Milner Canterberry's Obituary
Graveside services for Janette Milner Canterberry, 94, of Longview, will be 2 PM Friday, April 1, at Grace Hill Cemetery with Reverend Jonathan Jehorek officiating. Interment will follow in Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home, Longview. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM.
Mrs. Canterberry went to be with her Lord on March 30, 2011 at Good Shepherd Medical Center.
Janette was born February 6, 1917 in Texarkana, Arkansas to Sadie Bell Melton and L. M. Milner. She spent her younger years with her maternal grandparents, the late Minnie Buckleu and Sidney C. Melton of Longview. She graduated from Longview High School in 1935.
She worked at Avery's Pharmacy for three years and then worked for 32 years as the "Girl Friday" for Dr. G. G. McKellar. Janette was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Longview.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Henry Canterberry in 1989.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Minette Hutchison of Longview, grandchildren: Timothy Michael Hutchison of Longview and Katherine Chandler Peveler of Kilgore, great grandchildren: Naomi Hutchison of London, England, Blake Curtis Chandler of Tyler and Blane Alan Peveler of Kilgore, great great granddaughter: Isabella Rose Hutchison, brother: James M. Milner and wife Patricia of Tomball, Texas and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family request memorials to Heartsway Hospice, Good Shepherd Home Health or the First Presbyterian Church of Longview.
