Janet McLain Mauney's Obituary
Janet Lee McLain Mauney, 62, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, in Longview, Texas. She was born on December 9, 1962, in Houston, Texas.
Janet was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She found joy in life’s simple moments and had a special love for cheering on the Longview Lobos—never missing a chance to support her team with enthusiasm and pride.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Miranda and Deon Baggett; her son, Taylor Mauney; her cherished grandchildren, Haylee and Chance Applewhite; and her extended family, Debbie and Stanley Ray and Carolyn McAteer. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Betty McLain, and her brother-in-law, Larry McAteer. Janet’s love for her family shone through every interaction and memory shared. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Visitation will be held at Rosewood Park, Longview, in the mausoleum on December 3 at 9:00 AM, followed by the service at 10:00 AM.
