Wrote my senior letter in 15, now a senior at UT Tyler. Between then and now i never tried harder and loved a class more than her english class, I was away in Americorps when she passed away and it had felt like a week ago that me and my friends were watching scooby doo in the classroom. Couldnt tell you why i looked this up today, just know i will always appreciate the wisdom you gave us all, miss ya.
I will miss Janet's smile! She was a lovable human being. I remember when she sang, "His Eye is on the Sparrow". She is now in Heaven and cured of her illness and singing with the angels. Praying continuously for you, Scott and Reagan and all of your close friends and relatives.
I will always remember the three duets I sang with Janet. It was a joy to perform with someone who was blessed with her talent and character. She was a true lady. All who knew and loved her have a void in their hearts with her passing. Johnny Griggs
I have so many wonderful memories of times spent with Janet. We both learned to ride 4-wheelers together, we sang together, we shared stories of teaching, family, and God. I vividly remember that early morning phone call when she shared "I'm a mom!". The world is a much, much better place because my friend Janet was a part of it. I worked with Janet at Humble Alternative Center in the 80's. It was both of our first teaching jobs, and she was delightful to teach with. She had such a kind heart for kids, and she was so genuine in her interactions with them. Kids know when someone really cares for them, and Janet won their hearts. I was excited when Janet got engaged to Scott. She loved him so and loved the idea of being a minister's wife. I'm sure she filled that role very well. I know she had to have been an exceptional mother, and I'm sure Reagan will have many loving memories of her mom. Let her bright light continue to shine in all she loved.

Mrs. Mackey was my favorite teacher, because she was always kind and happy. That is what I remember most about her, her kindness and happiness. I will miss her.

Janet was and still is my one and only true friend from high school. Have really never lost touch with her. Loved getting her Christmas cards/letters each year. Visited with her as much as I could. Had been meeting with her every summer for the past few years. Was looking so forward to our July visit this year. I will still visit with her in July just in a different way. Love her very much and will miss her deeply. See you in the after life dear friend.
