Jane Locke Bass' Obituary
Jane Locke Bass passed away Thursday, April 10, 2008 at the Guardian House in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 14, at Rader Funeral Home, Longview, Texas. There will be visitation at 1 PM, followed by a service in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel at 2 PM. Entombment will be at Lakeview Mausoleum in Longview. Officiants will be Father Kevin Wittmayer and Verger John Murphy from Trinity Episcopal Church. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
She was a native of Shreveport, La. And it was at Fair Park High School that she met her future husband Terrell P. Bass, Jr. They were happily married for 59 wonderful years. She and her husband were owners of Bass Chevrolet in Longview, Texas for 28 years. She lived in Longview, Texas for 48 years before moving to Lake Charles, La in 2006.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Terrell Bass, her parents, Birney Davis and George Locke, her in-laws Terrell and Winnifred Bass, Sr. and her sister Martha Reid.
She is survived by three daughters, Terry Bass Stelly and husband Vic Stelly of Moss Bluff, La., Nancy Bass Gray and husband Jim Gray of Longview, Texas and Carolyn Bass Small and husband Bruce Small of Longview, Texas, nine grandchildren, Tracy Stelly Fendley and husband Mickey Fendley of Valdosta, Ga., Todd Stelly and wife Lori Stelly of Moss Bluff, La., Toni Stelly Hebert and husband Lyle Hebert of Moss Bluff, La., Kelly Bussey of Shawnee, Kansas, Casey Bussey Tobin and husband Troy Tobin of Onelaska, Wisc., Scott Peters and wife Gillian Peters of College Station, TX., Mark Peters and wife Amanda Peters of Longview, Tx., Chris Peters of Austin, TX., Keith Peters of Longview, Tx., Jessica Smith and husband David Smith, Grand Junction, Co., Shelli Small, Grand Junction, Co., eleven great-grandchildren, Lance Fendley of Valdosta, Ga., Hannah, Hayden and Hogan Stelly of Moss Bluff, La., Emma Kate Hebert, Moss Bluff, La., Blane Bussey, Flower Mound, Tx., Landen and Lauren Tobin of Onelaska, Wisc., Logan Peters, Longview, TX., Jade and Ethan Smith, Grand Junction, Co., sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty and Harry Stone, Monroe, La., brother, David Davis, Shreveport, La., and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the administration and staff of the Guardian House in Lake Charles for the wonderful care given to our Mother for the past year and a half, and also Odyssey Hospice for their kindness and support in our Mother's final days.
