Jane E. Hawkins, "Janie"'s Obituary
Jane Ellen Hawkins, 65, of Longview passed away on Friday, February 13, 2015, after a long, brave battle with cancer.
Janie was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on October 24, 1949. She was a proud alumna of Wheelersburg High School and loved all things Ohio State. She was proudly employed by SWEPCO for 27 years before her retirement in January.
Janie had a steadfast faith in Jesus Christ and was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church.
Janie is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Robert Bruce Hawkins; son, Michael Pyles (Rena); and daughter, Megan Lawson (Jeremy), all of Longview; brother, Rick Delph (Vicki); sister, Nancy Bush, all of Ohio; granddaughters Keeli Pyles and Kristen Dispenza; and grandsons Kaden Pyles, Chandler Lawson, and Cameron Lawson. She is preceded in death by her father, Baxter Delph, and grandson, Christian Pyles.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Sunday, February 15, at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Then a funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 16, at funeral home with interment immediately following the service in the mausoleum at Rosewood Park.
Pallbearers will be her friends and coworkers from SWEPCO. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kaden Pyles, Chandler Lawson, and Cameron Lawson, and her brother-in-law, Duane Hawkins.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Larry Frase and the staff of Texas Oncology Longview, along with the radiology department of Good Shepherd Medical Center for their outstanding care.
